Look Better Today

Micro-needling is a revolutionary, all-natural treatment which produces firmer, smoother, even-toned and more youthful looking skin.

Micro-needling is also known as Collagen Induction Therapy.  It helps treat the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, scars and discolorations of the skin. It has been clinically found to be safe and effective without the downtime and expense of surgery or laser. During the procedure, the electronic device, called a pen, is moved across the skin to produce thousands of micro-channels which produce new collagen, elastin and capillaries.

Skin issues which can be treated with Micro-needling:

Wrinkles and Fine Lines

 Sagging, Loose or Lax Skin

Uneven or Rough Skin Texture, Pore Size and Complexion

Discoloration, Hyper-pigmentation, Hypo-pigmentation, Sun Damage, Melasma

Acne Scars, Traumatic Scars, Surgical Scars

 Stretch Marks

 Hair loss

The number of treatments a person may need depends on the area of the body and the problem which needs to be addressed.

Micro-needling can be performed on any part of the body including:

decollete and chest

Unlike laser, Micro-needling is safe for all skin types and colors. It does not produce post inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

After treatment, you will experience some redness and mild swelling for 2 to 4 days. You may even notice a slight bruising or several tiny blood spots, but they will disappear in 24 to 48 hours. Your skin will become smoother and radiant in a week. Collagen will start to regenerate in 2 to 4 weeks.

The treatment can be safely repeated every 4-6 weeks until you achieve the desired results.

The level of discomfort depends on the treatment intensity. Prior to the procedure, we offer numbing cream to minimize any pain.

Micro-needling is similar to fraxel laser treatments because both cause micro trauma to the second layer of the skin which leads to the creation of both collagen and elastin. Unlike laser treatments, Micro-needling leaves the outer layer of skin intact so there is much less inflammation. This means that Micro-needling has much less “down time,” faster healing and a much lower risk of side effects.

Micro-needling has the added benefit of breaking up existing scar tissue and replacing it with normal collagen making it a preferred technique for improving acne, traumatic and surgical scars, something laser can not do.

Micro-needling is also much more affordable than laser.

The Micro-needling results are permanent although Micro-needling doesn’t “cure” the underlying condition. This damage usually occurs because of aging, sun, hormones and environmental toxins (smoking, pollution, etc.) The treatment “removes” the damage that has already occurred. How fast they reappear depends on how bad the original condition/damage is and how well you take care of your skin. To maintain best results, “touch up” treatments might be needed once a year, but more likely at 4 to 6 months for most people with significant damage.

Unlike the laser, you can repeat the treatment as often as you want without building up scar tissue.

After the procedure, the skin has been left with micro channels which significantly enhance the skin’s ability to absorb medical grade skin care products.

The treatment includes a numbing of the skin, a skin cleanse, the micro-needling treatment and a deluxe hydration facial mask.

Clients may also opt to add an additional treatment, such as Pure Hyaluronic Acid Serum or natural Growth Factor Snail Serum, for more benefit.

The Cosmetic Center RI recommends keeping the skin well hydrated until it has healed completely and to drink plenty of water.
